Move4Nature – ENGSO Youth good practices
Use physical activity and hiking as a tool to promote green actions and environmental protection among the European youth.
Move4Nature project combines physical activity with “concrete” climate action. We use outdoor sports, particularly hiking, as a tool to teach youth, and adults, about the importance of the environmental protection and climate action. Through hiking and physical activity in nature, the project will facilitate inclusion and intergenerational exchange. To restore cleanliness in the countryside and promote environmental protection and the “leave no trace” message, participants of our “MOVE4NATURE” initiative will organise hiking events for a good cause. The project will also encourage participation in sport and physical activity, especially by supporting the implementation of the EU Physical Activity Guidelines and the Council Recommendation on health-enhancing physical activity.
Our four-part educational toolkit was made for sport clubs and coaches who wish to motivate and educate youngsters and seniors how to hike for their health and for the health of the planet.
We teamed up with experts from the fields of environment, water and wildlife protection, mountaineering and inclusive hiking, and physical education to deepen our knowledge on working with youth and for the planet.
